Technical Specifications


Lifestream Watersystems Inc. manufactures the SW9 Commercial Duty Seawater Desalination Systems to provide potable water from seawater for small communities, hotels, industrial applications, resorts, oil drilling platforms, and many other land based and marine applications. The units include multimedia filters, 20 and 5 micron cartridge or bag filters, reverse osmosis unit, automatic backwash system, membrane cleaning system and crating. The highest quality components have been selected for the rugged duty that will be required for the water purification applications of the SW9 systems.

Standard System Includes:

  • Nickel/aluminum/bronze booster pump with 25 HP TEFC motor, interfaced to PLC
  • 5 micron prefilter using polymer composite filter housing. Filter housings hold 30 each 5 micron filter, 40” in length, interfaced to PLC
  • 20 micron prefilter using polymer composite filter housing. Filter housings hold 30 each 20 micron filter, 40” in length, interfaced to PLC
  • Chemical injection system for addition of antiscalant, including tank, dosing pump and all valving, interfaced to PLC
  • Reverse Osmosis desalination system controlled by PLC with all controls and valving
  • Nickel/aluminum bronze high pressure pump and motor assembly with energy recovery system, utilizing a quintuplex positive displacement pump, 250 HP TEFC motor and accumulator
  • 60 each spiral wound polyamide reverse osmosis membranes, 8” diameter x 40” length with 99.6% rejection rate
  • 10 each fiberglass pressure vessels with each vessel holding 6 each membranes
  • 100 gallon tank, valving and pump for cleaning of membranes
  • PLC readouts for:
    • Feedwater flow
    • Product water flow
    • Brine flow
    • Pressure at each prefiltration step
    • TDS of permeate water
    • Temperature of permeate water
    • TDS of feedwater
    • Temperature of feedwater
  • Totalizing hour meter
  • Splash resistant, NEMA 4 electrical enclosures
